Missions and service

Monticello offers a monthly opportunity to serve at Shawnee Community Services. Shawnee Community Services located at 11110 W. 67th (67th and Nieman) is a local food pantry and free clothing resource. Today, on average, 397 households per month benefit from the pantry boxes. www.scsks.org.

Saturday, March 21 (third Saturday of the month all year)
12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

We will pack pantry boxes for hungry families and stock shelves.

Have you wondered how you (and maybe your family!) can get involved in Monticello’s mission projects?  (i.e. donating cans of soup for Souper Bowl Sunday to spending a summer morning “gleaning” fresh vegetables or fruits with After the Harvest or serving lunch at the Lazarus House.)

Meet our Missions Partners
Sunday, February 23

The Missions Team is hosting “meet our missions partners” in Fellowship Hall after our worship service. We’ll have a delicious lunch served (potluck!) while you peruse tables with information about how you can get involved. The United Methodist Women will also be displaying community projects they are involved in.

Serve Lunch at Lazarus Ministries

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. 

The mission team is serving lunch at Lazarus Ministries on Saturday, February 29. We will meet at Monticello at 9:30 a.m. and carpool to Lazarus Ministries in K.C., MO. We are asking for seven volunteers to help. Please send an e-mail to Maureen Woolever if you can serve.
